NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for any adult who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by trained leaders who’ve been there.

How Can I Volunteer with NAMI Carroll County?

NAMI Carroll County provides support to people living with mental illnesses and their families throughout the county. We accomplish this through the generosity of volunteers who give their time. Volunteers are essential to the work that NAMI Carroll County does. We are looking for passionate volunteers to lead Carroll County in the following areas:

  • Do outreach in the community
  • Work during our special events
  • Contribute to our advocacy efforts
  • In Our Own Voice presenters
  • Family Support Group Facilitators
  • Program leaders

The new 3-digit number for mental health and suicide crisis, is now available across the nation. This is a reality because of mental health advocates like you who raised their voice in support of a vision that we can provide everyone a better response to mental health crises.

Anyone experiencing a mental health, substance use, or suicide crisis can call or text 988 or chat with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988lifeline.org.

No matter where you live, you can be connected to trained crisis counselors at Lifeline call centers across the country. This support is available to people in crisis or their loved ones, and it is free, confidential and available 24/7/365.

Family Support Group will be offered two times per month. It will be on the first and third Tuesday of the month.

The first Tuesday will be online via Zoom.

The third Tuesday will be in person.

Online Training Available

NAMI offers the following free online training:

NAMI Basics is a 6-session education program for parents, caregivers and other family who provide care for youth (ages 22 and younger) who are experiencing mental health symptoms. This program is free to participants, 99% of whom say they would recommend the program to others.
